Youth Protection Issues? Find Help Here!

With all the charters coming in, we have noticed the thing that ais making most of them incomplete is Youth Protection.  Here are two easy ways to make sure that your Youth Protection gets updated in the Scoutnet system here at the Service Center – no mailing or driving to the office required!

1.  Link your MyScouting account with your Member ID number – Remember that membership card with that long number that you can use to get discounts as Gander Mountain?  It also is important because if you log onto www.myscouting.org, you can update your account with that number and it will sync the trainings you take on their with the trainings on the Council records.  If you do this correctly, whenever you take or retake a training it will automatic update our records.

2.  Save the Certificate to your Computer and Email it – Let’s say you do not have your member ID number or you are a brand new leader.  Another great option you have is after going onto myscouting.org, creating the account, and taking youth protection training, you can save the certificate (a PDF file) onto your computer.  Then once you do that you can then email it to your District Executive (robert.bongers@scouting.org) and he will take it to the registrar to update your account.

If you are still sitting there untrained, take 20 minutes or less, get it done, help get your unit rechartered, and most importantly, help protect our youth.
